Zuko remembers his childhood, including Azula's psychopathic behavior and his own perseverance. Instead, they find Long Feng and the Dai Li waiting for them. On the verge of losing, Aang gets hit in the back of his scar which sends him into the Avatar State. Despite arriving at Ba Sing Se for security, Aang's team decide to stop the drill which is by the fire nation who wish to use it to break down Ba Sing Se's outer wall. Long Feng is tricked into a deal with Azula where he will exchange Aang for assistance in regaining control of the Dai Li and consolidating their power over the Earth Kingdom throne, which will then act as a proxy government for the Fire Kingdom. Toph is left behind with Appa.
After seeing her unique style of Earthbending, Aang wants Toph to become his teacher, but there are complications with Toph's family. Aang challenges and easily defeats her with. The move functions as some sort of message to his opponent, who then helps protect Iroh and Zuko from a Fire Nation search. Zuko and Katara spend time together in an unexpected way. Xin Fu kidnaps Aang and Toph thinking he was cheated.
Waking up hungry for food and adventure, the boy reveals himself as the Avatar. Book 2 was released on Region 2 on July 20, 2009. Launching into an offensive, Iroh delays Azula, Zuko, and the Dai Li long enough to allow Katara to escape along with the gravely injured Aang, and then surrenders, being taken prisoner as a traitor to the Fire Nation. After an intense battle between Team avatar and the Dai Li on the surface, during which Jet is killed by Long Feng, Aang and Appa are finally reunited. Sokka starts thinking that the library might have information about how to defeat the fire nation so the team try to look for the library. The children make a heroic effort to find and rescue Aang's dear friend, Earthbender monarch King Bumi. The villagers eventually discover Aang's identity and arrest him.
And Iroh bonds with an unlikely individual. However, the spirit of the library, Wan Shi Tong, begins to sink the library, thinking that Sokka will only use the knowledge to fuel a war. The island, in fact, turns out to be a lion turtle from which Aang is given the guidance he had been seeking. Completely dispirited, confused, and longing for Aang, Appa returns to his childhood home at the Eastern Air Temple, where he discovers a mysterious guru has taken residence in the ruins.
Along the way, he confronts Princess Azula, treacherous daughter of Firelord Ozai and sister to Prince Zuko. Plagued with nightmares featuring the devastating power of his Avatar State, Aang and the gang meet an Earth Kingdom general who has big plans for defeating the Fire Nation. Later that night, Toph leaves home to join Aang. Archived from on May 27, 2011. Toph is captured by Xin Fu and Master Yu, who attempt to transport her back to her parents; they lock her in an iron enclosure to negate her powerful earthbending, but the experience leads Toph to an epiphany when she realizes that there are tiny bits of earthen material within the metal, which she can use to manipulate it; Toph tears open the enclosure, creating a new form of earthbending in the process: metal bending. After cleaning Appa so his fur does not leave a trail, Aang goes one way as a decoy, and Sokka and Katara go another direction on Appa.
Meanwhile, due to their actions at the North Pole, and are declared enemies of the Fire Nation and desert their country, becoming fugitives in the Earth Kingdom. In the meantime, and are visited by Zuko's sister, , who has come bearing a message from the Fire Lord, requesting their return home. Aang and the group succeed in stopping and destroying the drill from the inside. They sneak in and are caught by Fire Nation soldiers, but released when pockmarks on Sokka create the illusion of illness. When they learn that it is not a celebration of the Avatar, but a festival of anti-Avatar sentiment caused by something Aang did in his past, Aang is determined to clear the Avatar's good name. An Earth King General gives him the task of stopping it before it destroys the wall that protects the city. Through that, the old man protects them from getting caught.
Aang sees the whole situation in a vision, and immediately gathers everybody to help. Aang recalls the events that led to Chin the Great's death; a conqueror, he was confronted by Avatar Kyoshi and died from a fall when he refused to back away from a chasm Kyoshi formed to protect a people he had been trying to subjugate. They meet a resistance movement, and help the city's entire population escape by faking an epidemic. Air Date : 15th-Sep-2006 Having finally made it into Ba Sing Se, the kids are given a house in the upper ring. The kids soon realize that the Dai Li are doing their best to thwart the kids efforts to find Appa. They are to be escorted to Omashu, where Aang intends to find King Bumi to teach him earthbending.
Also, Iroh makes a powerful stand and Zuko struggles to keep his plan intact. The library is guarded by the knowledge spirit, Wan Shi Tong, who doesn't welcome humans into his library, because he believes they only seek information for evil purposes. Meanwhile, Zuko disguise as The Blue Spirit, steals food for himself and his uncle. Zuko leads the rest of the group to the Earth Kingdom to meet a tracker whom they hope can find Aang. After many failed attempts, General Fong finally succeeds in triggering the Avatar State by faking 's death. During their search, the kids meet up with Jet, whom they are understandably reluctant to trust. Meanwhile, Zuko and Iroh are also on a ferry to Ba Sing Se and meet Jet and his group of Freedom Fighters.
