The mileage on my vehicle now is 65,342. Warranty ended on the steering at 90,000. Sharp turns produce squeaky noises. Took it to my local mechanic and he confirmed a leak from the power steering hose. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. But, yeah, I am already foresee steering problems in my future. The resevoir had fluid in it, but not reading on the dipstick.
Have the system inspected and repaired. It didn't pass the state emission test sticker. Always use the correct fluid listed in Recommended Fluids and Lubricants. No one was hurt, but I don't wanna it to get to that either. Checking the power steering fluid level in your Enclave is relatively easy and should be done once a month or if you are experienced difficulty turning the wheel or steering your Enclave. Sensor replaced, then actuator replaced, then control buttons replaced then final control button and internal door sensors replaced not by warranty, rear hatch struts failed and dropped on child and owners heads, open and close buttons non responsive on remote for the hatch. The contact stated that while being operated aproximately 10 mph the steering seized.

I purchased the Buick new. The engine compartment then became engulfed in flames. I have read in many forums that allot of Buick owners are experiencing this issue. I have change the alternador, the purge valve, the valve canister on top of the gas tank and the other sensor that tell you about the fumes of the tank went filling. The first, original, was replaced under warranty. Onstar would not power down, no notice it was connected, dropped cell calls and killed battery. We could not afford the expense at that time and now as much as we enjoy this type vehicle we are contemplating trying to trade it rather than risk the safety of our family.
It is not surprising that such a poorly run company was on the verge of bankruptcy. I purchased a Delco replacement and installed it myself. Unscrew the cap and wipe the dipstick with a clean rag. Upon jumping, the control module for onstar failed as did cellular antenna not covered by warranty. Steering wheel is harder to turn. I'm going to assume they do. I made a thread on this about a week ago.
The approximate failure mileage was 73,731. Sears said there was not leak. I also change the pcv valve all the breathers hoses in the intake housing , I change the troutle body, the spark plugs, the coils, the intake gaskets, the oxigents sensors,the batery poles. Not a cheap fix either! Buick needs to own this critical safety issue. Check the fluid level in your Buick. The vehicle was not repaired.
I was aware the moan may be my power steering pump, so I brought it in for diagnostic appointment to a local repair shop. It locks up and very, very hard to turn. I knew there was a fill bottle but I wasn't 100% sure how it worked. . It took them a while, but they showed me where my power steering cap was. There shield be fluid showing on the stick between the two molded in lines.
Milage at 45517 many other Buicks same problem of which gm paid for repair. The contact stated that there was no warning indicator when the eps failed causing the steering wheel to seize in either direction. Dec 17, 2010 I have a 2009 Buick Enclave. Is your Enclave hard to turn? Prior to steering failure, I did notice a funny sound when the steering wheel was turned to far right or left. In a few days, check the power steering fluid level in your Enclave to make sure you don't have a leak.
Resubmitted in 2011 and 2013, water pump replaced, steering gear box replaced, steering pump replaced, throttle body cleaned. Googled steering problems and found the repair would be 1100. This time it'¿'s not resolving itself. This is without a question a safety issue that Buick needs to own. Since we were on the highway we continued driving until we got to our location and parked the car. It amazes me more that the dealer did the service check and checked off that the fluid was good. I don't want my family in a vehicle that a company will not stand behind.
